The Doormat Suit has been constructed three times to date, once in 2006-2007, once in 2011-2012 and a final time in 2015-2016. The last material version of the suit was inhabited by wasp nests on my property where I thought I was storing it safely.

I was not. The third incarnation of the suit has been destroyed like the first and second. A fouth could be created at any time, it's not the type of object that can't be recreated - see Duchamp Fountain over and over again.

Doormat Suit existed as an actually wearable suit by me, in the size 44R, albeit it was too stiff for real life activities. The suit also aspired to join the history of artist suits created from Duchamp, to Annette Lemieux who made a huge impression on me when I got to work with her for a few days in 2012.

The suit joins a long trajectory of artist suits.
This suit is made of doormats and speaks to the role of this particular individual and artist as a subordinate and one who is regularly trounced, yet the bright green motif with flower is suggestive of an optimism.
