I took this photograph in the home of someone who was deceased but also was absolutely noble and kind.

It was taken in the outskirts of Kalamazoo County in 2013.

This individual had a long history of donating time and money to the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts (where I worked) and upon their death, donated some significant amounts of supplies.

Please know that this photograph, which was taken with absolutely no ones permission, was taken with a great deal of love and respect to the individual who had occupied this incredibly extravagent home.

I still think about this day, driving our van to this home, and picking up so much equipment and supplies and also my own curiousity to just connect with the human who was once there.
